Learning to be Silent

Learning to be Silent

The pupils of Tendai school used to study meditation before Zen entered Japan. Four of them who were intimate friends promised one another to observe seven day of silent.

One of first day all were silent. Their meditation has begun auspiciously, but when night came and the oil lamps were growing dim one of the pupils could not help exclaiming to a servant ; " Fix those lamps. "

The second pupils surprised to hear the first one talk. " We are not supposed to say a word " , he remarks.

" You two are stupid. Why did you talk ? asked the third.

" I am the only one who has not talk ", conclude the forth pupil.

I thought, all four pupil are talk ( Ha ha ha ha ha ). Look like people who live in glass houses shouldn't throw stones. Who do you hate ? you don't make as same as that person.
If you are the same that person, you are not different.

                What do you think ?
